Selecting a CPU for a 3D CAD workstation.?

Core i7-2920XM Extreme Edition is the best you can get for cad work. If you want to go with Amd though, and I do not suggest using Amd for cad work, then definitely get the Phenom II x6 1100T 3.7 GHz.
