How do I stay blonde but do it from home not at the salon? (I have light mousy brown hair naturally)?

You're right on two counts: Salons are over-priced humiliation fests - what's with all the mirrors, bad lighting and those stupid apron things that require a complete change of clothes? - and two, L'Oreal is making perfectly excellent hair color, including REALLY good conditioners, especially for your color (mine, too), which each provide several different tones for a natural look. About $10-12 will get you one of the new colors - 71 Dark Ash Blonde or if you want lighter, the old Excellence B1. I find L'Oreal to be completely accurate in its depictions of 'If your color is this, you'll get that, etc.' on the back of the box. Don't be misled by the color of those strange plastic hair swatches at the drug store. Good luck and happy savings!
