How to avoid bronchitis if i feel it coming on?
I was told by a doctor that bronchitis is not contagious, but that there is usually a virus involved to begin with. So, the virus brings down the immune system, the cold symptoms start, bacteria grows and bronchitis sets in. Both garlic and honey (not together, though, yuck!) are both antimicrobial, meaning they help to fend off unwanted critters. Garlic tastes good on toast. As for honey, drink some tea a few times a day with lemon, mint and honey together. To keep the bronchials draining, heat some water in a pan to boil, be careful, hold your head over the pot at the kitchen table in a comfortable sitting position with a towel over your head. Do this as many times a day as you feel comfortable. Run a vaporizer or a humidifier in whatever room you are in. Drink loads of water, because this keeps the throat from getting too dry and keeps your cough productive. More than anything, get lots of rest and make sure you take care of yourself.
